Bit Bop (2008)

In my senior year of college, my friend Perry and I spent our free time making a brick game prototype called Bit Bop.

Unlike other brick games, our levels would move and float, and you could pop neighboring bricks in rhythm with the game’s music.

A key feature was that you could “smush” stray bricks into a solid block as shown in this demo video.

We entered our game into the Vicarious Visions Student Challenge hosted during our school’s annual GameFest.

Bit Bop won 2nd Place!

The judges from Vicarious Visions liked that our game was made in Torque 2D and could realistically be published digitally on Xbox 360.
